The City of Lincoln City wishes to commission and purchase original art from Siletz Tribal Members for display in the new Lincoln City Welcome Center at D River Wayside. The Lincoln City Welcome Center will serve as the visitor center for Explore Lincoln City and the City of Lincoln City. The purpose is to educate and inspire travelers about natural and cultural history, outdoor recreation, arts , and destinations in the region.
The City wishes to interpret the vibrant contemporary culture of the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians and promote interest in tribal programs and destinations by displaying several pieces of contemporary tribal art in the new welcome center. The City seeks no more than 10 total pieces of small to medium-sized art. Art pieces could include necklaces, beadwork, regalia, small carvings, basketry, paintings , and/or other portable artworks.
Interested artists may present a proposal including artist name and contact information, project description, sketch, and total artist reimbursement and commission cost to Kim Cooper Findling, Explore Lincoln City , kfindling@lincolncity.org.
The deadline to submit artwork proposals is October 2, 2026. The selection process will take place in October, conducted by both city staff and CTSI’s culture team. At this time, the art will be appraised for purchase to use in the Welcome Center, and offers for those art pieces will be sent to the artists by November 30. The completed artwork will be complete and ready to install by January 15, 2027.
