Pelican Brewing Company on Siletz Bay
The time has come for Pelican Brewing Company to open its doors to us in Lincoln City
After a series of 'soft openings' Pelican is ready for all the hype it deserves. In addition to serving up their classic pub food and flagship beers, they will offer unique dishes specific to this location and soon will brew beer onsite you can only get when you visit Lincoln City. They are now putting the finishing touches on Phil's Nest, their unique indoor/outdoor seafood dining space, the upstairs mezzanine, the to-go window, and their 15-barrel brewhouse. Enjoy a cold beer on their patio overlooking the bay from 12 pm - 9 pm.
“It's an innovative new brewpub that will bring a unique dining option to Lincoln City. We are delighted to follow the incredible legacy of The Bay House restaurant at this beautiful site on the coast—we wish them well as they expand their hospitality offerings,” says Mary Jones, founder and owner of Pelican Brewing, Kiwanda Hospitality Group, and the Nestucca Ridge Family of Companies. “Whether it’s brewing award-winning beer, innovating new beer cuisine, or creating a new venue for guests to enjoy the magnificence of the Oregon Coast, we are all about creating great guest experiences. This new brewpub will enable us to do just that while bringing a new dining and entertainment experience to the Central Coast.” The 14,000-square-foot building will have an indoor capacity of about 240. The main dining room with a bar will seat 120, and two private dining rooms - each seating 42. This space will be rented as a private event space for weddings, meetings, and private dining. There will also be a mezzanine above the main dining room seats about 40.
Pelican secured the design services of the global award-winning hospitality design firm, EDG, and the architectural expertise of Portland-based Jones Architecture. Both firms are committed to collaborating with the Pelican team to create an exceptionally designed space that embraces the beauty of Siletz Bay and Pelican’s desire to create an extraordinary guest experience.
Mary Jones and Jeff Schons founded Pelican Brewery in 1996 in Pacific City and later built locations in Tillamook and Cannon Beach. While all the locations are different in construction and vibe, the Lincoln City location will have a variety of outdoor spaces that will take advantage of the spectacular views of Siletz Bay. The Inglenook, located on the south side of the restaurant, will be a combination of an indoor and outdoor area that will have an outdoor kitchen and a live crab tank. They plan to make that area available by reservation and serve something similar to a New England-style crab boil — something very unique to bring to the Oregon Coast.
“Pelican Brewing Company, its owners, and team are well-respected, and they will be an active community partner in Lincoln City hospitality and tourism—we welcome them to this special location,” says Steve Wilson, long-time proprietor at The Bay House. “We have been planning to expand our offerings to include overnight lodging in addition to the restaurant venue, and we are now engaged in negotiations to move to an outstanding spot not far from here." Visit the Bay House, now at Salishan Coastal Lodge, and enjoy their famously known menu items and vast wine selection, and stay tuned for their overnight accommodations.
Jones said part of the company’s goal is to provide a work culture with good work and life balance. This includes offering a robust benefits package, including health insurance for all full-time people, paid vacations, and an employer-matched 401K.
