Traditionally held on the beach at the D River Wayside, the 2026 Fall Kite Festival will be held at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. This temporary change in location is due to the construction of the new Lincoln City Welcome Center at the D River Wayside. Explore Lincoln City is thrilled to partner with Chinook Winds Casino Resort as we look to continue the long-standing tradition of the Summer Kite Festival in Lincoln City.
Enjoy exciting kite demonstrations by experts, kite-making, and of course, the colorful, giant kites floating above the beach! The Fall Kite Festival is an event like no other, with brilliant shapes and colors filling up the sky for the whole weekend.

Kick off the Fall Kite Festival with a dazzling Night Fly!
Watch the skies come alive as illuminated kites light up the evening over the beach at the in a magical, family-friendly display you won’t want to miss.
The Fall Kite Festival Night Fly begins at 7:00 PM running through to 9:00 PM PDT.
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Pixie Fest Carnival Games donations go to the Kiwanis Club of Lincoln City

10:00 AM: Announcements. Festival Opening Performance.
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM: FREE Kite Making Workshop. Donations to benefit Family Promise of Lincoln County.
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Performances by Featured Fliers.
On Sunday: 11:00 AM - 11:20 AM: Kite Flier Memorial.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Mega Fly! Enjoy watching all fliers on the field together!
1:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Performances by Featured Fliers.
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Tours of the Big Kite Field
4:00 PM: Festival Closes.

The schedule is subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control, including weather. Times are approximate.
Parking is available in designated areas around Chinook Winds Casino, 1st Choice Fresh Market, and the top level of the parking structure at the Lincoln City Outlets. Free shuttle service is available at these locations and runs continuously from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday.
Shuttle service will be available for the Fall Kite Festival Night Fly on Friday, September 25, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

No. Professional kite fliers are performing for the festival. However, you are welcome to fly your kite at other locations along the beach.
