Hunting for a glass float? Increase your chances during our Special Drops! Search our beaches on holidays and special occasions. There are hundreds of extra treasures to find in addition to our regular drops all year round.
2026 Special Drop Dates
- January 9-11, 2026: Opening Weekend: Kick-off the new season of Finders Keepers—100 floats will be dropped.
- February 6-16, 2026: Retro Expo: Explore Lincoln City’s antique and vintage shops for retro gold, and take to the beach to look out for 100 Japanese antique-style floats during the Retro Expo.
- April 22-25, 2026: Earth Day: Celebrate Earth Day with beach cleanups and a seaside surprise—50 floats will be dropped along the beach.
- June 1-12, 2026: Marie Lamfrom—130 floats—Found Marie Lamfrom Glass Floats can be registered through the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation Birthday Project. Registered floats help support hardworking Oregon nonprofit teams by providing invitations for rest, recreation, and community through the foundation’s annual giving initiative.
- June 19-20, 2026: Chinook Winds Casino Resort, 31st Anniversary Celebration: To celebrate the anniversary of Chinook Winds Casino Resort, 31 special floats will be dropped.
- September TBD: Lincoln City Fall Kite Festival: Find one before it flies away—10 floats are scheduled for the Fall Kite Festival.
- October 30-November 1, 2026: Halloween: 50 glass floats will be dropped for Halloween. It’s no trick—if you find one, it’s yours to keep.

Yes. Following the special celebrations surrounding the 25th anniversary of Finders Keepers in 2025, the program is returning to its roots. The heart of Finders Keepers is the excitement of discovery — knowing that any beach walk could become the moment you find a glass float.
Will there be fewer glass floats in 2026?
No. Explore Lincoln City is still placing over 3,000 floats on the beach throughout 2026.
What happens if I find a Marie Lamfrom Glass Float?
Found Marie Lamfrom Glass Floats can be registered through the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation Birthday Project. Registered floats help support hardworking Oregon nonprofit teams by providing invitations for rest, recreation, and community through the foundation’s annual giving initiative.
Each registered float helps generate funding for Oregon coastal schools and nonprofit organizations participating in the annual birthday initiative.
Created in partnership with Explore Lincoln City’s Finders Keepers program, the initiative honors Marie Lamfrom’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and community support by helping hardworking nonprofit teams create opportunities for rest, recreation, learning, exploration, and connection.
