Learn MoreSpring on the Oregon Coast is a time of exploration, relaxation, and discovery. Whether you're searching for glass floats, hiking coastal headlands, or simply soaking in the fresh coastal air, there's no better time to experience the magic of Lincoln City.
Spring is the perfect time to explore Lincoln City's trails, with mild weather and blooming landscapes. You don’t have to leave town to find adventure—Lincoln City boasts nine scenic hiking trails within city limits. From the world’s shortest park trail (just 135 feet) to longer hikes leading to panoramic Pacific Ocean views, these trails showcase a wide variety of coastal beauty. Use the Lincoln City Hiking Trails Passport to discover them all, and you might even win some prizes along the way!
Spring brings Lincoln City’s trails and gardens to life. Hike Cascade Head for sweeping ocean views and a dazzling display of wildflowers—irises, foxgloves, trillium, and more—alongside the rare Oregon silverspot butterfly. For a quieter retreat, visit the Connie Hansen Garden in the Wecoma neighborhood. This volunteer-run oasis bursts with seasonal blooms, lily ponds, and vibrant rhododendrons in spring.
Lincoln City’s famed Finders Keepers glass float program runs year-round, but spring offers extra opportunities to find one. During special drop dates, Celebrate Earth Day, April 22-25, 2026, with beach cleanups and a seaside surprise—50 floats will be dropped along the beach.
Don't limit float hunting to that single weekend; there are glass float drops nearly every day. This season, the program places less focus on competition and planned hunts; instead the emphasis will be on resurrecting the feeling of “just happening upon” a piece of coastal history that is akin to finding a beautiful shell to treasure.
Lincoln City is also an ideal location for Astrotourism—or dark sky tourism—a relatively recent addition to ecotourism, which focuses on sky-related tourist activities, such as stargazing, astrophotography, chasing eclipses and auroras, and visiting observatories and planetariums. Knight Park, Cascade Head Biosphere Region, Siletz Bay Wildlife Refuge, low-light areas on the beach between the Nelscott and Delake neighborhoods, and East Devils Lake State Park are a few areas inside town that are excellent for stargazing. There is far less light pollution here than many cities of comparable size on the Oregon Coast and elsewhere in the state. In fact, Lincoln City has its own dark sky club, the Central Oregon Coast Friends of the Night Sky. Visit their website for information about meetings and events that focus on all things associated with Dark Sky/Astrotourism.
Lincoln City offers endless ways to explore. Paddle through the Salmon River Estuary to the north or the Siletz River to the south, both protected wildlife areas where you might spot seals, otters, and herons. Rent a kayak or join a guided tour with Safari Town Surf Shop or the Sustainable Living Center.
Prefer to stay on land? Fat tire biking is a thrilling way to cruise the city's wide, sandy beaches. Designed for hard-packed sand, these oversized-tire bikes provide a smooth and effortless ride along the coastline. Rentals and guided tours are available through Safari Town Surf Shop.
April 7 marks National Beer Day, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by exploring Lincoln City’s thriving craft beer scene. Use the Tap and Brew Passport to discover the best breweries, pubs, and local watering holes in town. Sample some of Oregon’s finest brews and find a new favorite pint along the way.
Be part of something bigger and join the Oregon Spring Cleanup on Earth Day, April 22, 2026. Plan a trip to Lincoln City and team up with fellow volunteers for a citywide beach cleanup that helps preserve the Oregon Coast—all while soaking in the fresh ocean air. With cleanup events happening throughout Lincoln City, it’s an easy and rewarding way to give back. Who knows? You might even find a special Finders Keepers Earth Day float while lending a hand!
Spring is a time of renewal for both people and wildlife. As you explore Lincoln City, remember to keep your distance from wildlife, avoid disturbing seal pups or other creatures, and leave no trace to help keep beaches and trails pristine for future generations.
